Carmel by the Sea

Working to capture the beauty of Carmel I layered 5 glazes of blues, purple & peach. The handle is wood with a resin inlay containing multiple layers of eye popping colors.

About care & materials used 

-I recommend hand washing this cup because the handle is wood. The wood is treated with an FDA approved food safe coat of polyx-oil which is water resistant. You can put it in the dishwasher but long exposure will wear down the protective coating. Wood & dishwashers are not BFF's. It is not microwave safe because of the epoxy inlay,  epoxy is a type of plastic and can change shape if it gets too hot. I tested a bunch in the microwave it didn't ruin the cup or change the shape but I wouldn't risk it. Some species of wood used to make the handle can get warm to the touch if left in the microwave for a long time so please be aware of this.-
